Grokbot and LinkedIn: practical ways to use it

Last updated October 10, 2026 · By Joe Apfelbaum

Grokbot can help with LinkedIn work like researching prospects, drafting posts and messages in your voice and building follow-up lists, while you stay the one who clicks send. xAI's own example "Sales Outbound" Bot "researches accounts, scores contacts with intent, drafts email and LinkedIn in your voice, and leaves a review list for you to approve." (x.ai/bot) We could not find an official LinkedIn connector, so a Bot would use its browser for LinkedIn.

Can Grokbot use LinkedIn?

A Bot can sign into websites in its own browser and the session stays signed in. (xAI Docs) That includes LinkedIn. But be careful: LinkedIn's User Agreement restricts bots and automated activity on its site (LinkedIn User Agreement), and some sites block traffic from cloud computers or show captchas. (Cursor Help: FAQs) The safest pattern is "Bot prepares, human posts." Let the Bot research and draft, and you do the sending, connecting and commenting yourself.

What are the best ways to use Grokbot for LinkedIn?

  1. Prospect research. "Here are 20 companies. For each, find the head of marketing, their recent news and one reason they might care about us. Put it in a spreadsheet."
  2. Post drafts in your voice. Give a Bot 10 of your best posts and ask for three drafts a week on topics you choose. Approve, edit, publish.
  3. Meeting prep. "Before each sales call on my calendar, send me a one-page brief on the person and company."
  4. Follow-up lists. "Every Friday, list the people I met this week and draft a short, personal follow-up for each."
  5. Content repurposing. Turn a webinar transcript or blog post into a LinkedIn post, a carousel outline and three comment ideas.
  6. Event and lead tracking. Keep a sheet of who engaged with your posts, with notes for your next conversation.

How do I set up a LinkedIn Bot in Grokbot?

Create a Bot with a clear job, for example "LinkedIn Assistant." Give it your goals, your audience, examples of your writing and firm rules: "Never send a message, connection request or comment. Always leave drafts for my approval." Run one task by hand, fix what is off, then save it as a skill and, if you want, a weekly routine. (Cursor Docs) See our skills and connectors guide.

What about evyAI?

Grokbot School is powered by evyAI, Joe Apfelbaum's AI sales assistant for LinkedIn. evyAI is built specifically for LinkedIn, inside your own browser, while Grokbot is a general AI teammate for all kinds of work. Many people will use both: a dedicated LinkedIn tool for writing and engaging on LinkedIn, and Grokbot for the research, reports and follow-up around it.

What does a good LinkedIn job description for a Bot look like?

Here is a starting point you can paste and edit:

"You are my LinkedIn research assistant. Every Monday at 8am, look at the people who engaged with my last three posts. For each one, find their role, company and one recent update. Rank them by how well they fit my ideal customer: B2B founders with 10 to 200 employees. Draft a short, friendly message for the top 10 that mentions something specific. Do not send anything, connect with anyone or comment. Put everything in a Google Sheet and message me the link."

Notice the three parts: a clear job, a clear schedule and a clear "do not" list. That last part matters most.
